Canadian Urban Institute and ICF Canada Facilitate Smart Cities Sessions
Canadian Urban Institute (CUI) and Intelligent Community Forum Canada (ICF Canada) will facilitate a Smart Planning for Smart Cities session at the Municipal Finance Officer’s Association of Ontario (MFOA) 2019 Annual Conference & Trade Show on September 20th, addressing the challenges and opportunities for developing a comprehensive Smart City Master Plan as a roadmap to becoming “smarter” and explore national and international best practices. Additionally CUI and ICF Canada are working in partnership on several other smart city initiatives across Canada on behalf of Evergreen, including… an Ideas Camp in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland on October 16; and facilitating the first set of Canada-wide smart city community roundtables for the Future Cities’ Community Solution Network in Whitehorse, Yukon (September 27); Kelowna, BC (October 25); Cape Breton, Nova Scotia (October 28); and Sherbrooke, Quebec (October 31). Together, we are also working on an LS Network Workshop in Huntsville, Ontario on September 20 and in Abbotsford, BC on October 2, headed by CUI’s Geneva Starr and supported by John Jung, a former Board Director of CUI and the inaugural Executive Director of ICF Canada.
