ICF Picks Two Canadian Communities to be on its TOP7 Intelligent Communities List for 2017
ICF awarded Edmonton, Alberta and Grey County, Ontario the honour to be Canada’s representatives on the prestigious ICF Top7 list of global communities to be further evaluated for 2017’s Intelligent Community of the Year. The TOP7 announcement took place in Taipei on Feb 9 in association with another conference that included the official launch of ICF Taiwan.
ICF Co-Founders Lou Zacharilla and John Jung announced the Top7 cities at an evening event in a theatre that was part of Taipei’s famous Lantern Festival. In the audience were representatives from all of the SMART21 cities from Taiwan as well as several Canadian cities, The Netherlands, Estonia and guests from Vietnam.
Congratulations to Edmonton and Grey County. They are joined by Taoyuan and Chiayi, both in Taiwan; Melbourne and Ipswich, both in Australia; and Moscow. The next step is for ICF’s Co-Founders to travel to these TOP7 communities to physically see the programs and initiatives that the cities submitted in their applications, meet the leaders and people behind them and validate the submission’s claims on behalf of the Jury for their review prior to the June announcement of the Intelligent Community of the Year. In addition to these reports, the ICF Jury will receive the data and applications, as well as other information from the applicants that will help to inform their votes for Intelligent Community of the Year.
