In “Climate Change Through a Smart Cities Lens” cities covered include Toronto, Melbourne, Curitiba, Taipei, Sunshine Coast (Queensland), Reykjavik, Coral Gables (Florida) and Dublin, Ohio. These global cities, towns and regions have been cited by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) as SMART21 cities and TOP7 communities. However, in some cases, they are also the top Intelligent Community model cities for the year across key indicators including connectivity infrastructure and data analytics, creating knowledge workers, building an innovation ecosystem, engaging and inspiring equitable distribution of prosperity and digital opportunities and building and sustaining a resilient economy, infrastructure and community. Cited are many examples of climate change solutions, methodologies, policies and practices that these communities exercise toward resolving local climate change and resiliency issues.
