The ICF Summit and Awards was preceded by an outstanding twelve-hour tour of the region on March 5. The attendees were hosted to site visits of amazing hidden gems from the Biolabs at the Hamilton Health Sciences, Mohawk College Joyce Center for Partnership & Innovation, Burlington TechPlace, Burlington City Hall, McMaster Automotive Resource Centre (MARC) and the Hamilton Technology Centre for an evening Reception and Art Gallery Opening.
The ICF Summit ICF’s Smart21 Conference and Awards took place on March 6, 2025 in the Hamilton Convention Centre in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Below are some images from several of the keynotes and panels. Keynotes by Naama Blonder, architect and planner, focusing on “smart density” and Paul Armstrong, President Mohawk College, on training the workforce of the future joined sessions focused on the housing crisis; driving better healthcare outcomes and several other topics.
The audience included mayors, city managers, CIOs, economic developers, academia, planners, healthcare executives, cultural officials, stakeholders from ICF’s global network, community leaders, residents, and private sector businesses interested in community development.
The theme of the conference “Communities in Transition” focused on the six Intelligent Community Indicators and how communities along with their private sector partners implemented solutions that improved the
lives of citizens, promote better health outcomes, and foster community well-being.
